Description

Golden Axe is an arcade beat-’em-up game that puts players in the shoes of one of three heroes, each with his own reason for trying to overthrow the evil rule of Death-Adder, who – along with his forces of darkness – kidnapped and imprisoned the King and his daughter and stole the legendary Golden Axe.

This is a horizontal fighting game, where you basically take one of the three characters (the barbarian Ax Battler, a dwarf named Gilius Thunderhead or the amazon Tyris Flare) and bash everything which stands between you and Death Adder himself. Each character has a special magical ability that can be charged by kicking small blue creatures that drop a potion. There is also a green variety off this creature that drops food that replenishes your health. Some enemies ride dragons and a scorpion like creature. The enemies can be knocked off and you can mount the creature yourself and attack the enemies with it. …

G-Police

Description

After a violent interstellar resource war, mega-corporations seize power from the remnants of Earth’s governments and lead humanity’s way into the colonization of space. The last vestige of central authority is in the form of the G-Police (Government Police); an independent agency tasked with keeping order in the colonies. You play as rookie Jeff Slater – a former military pilot going undercover at the G-Police squadron on Callisto, in the hopes of finding the truth behind your sister’s sudden death.

G-Police is an arcade-style helicopter shooter set inside the colony domes on Callisto. You pilot a futuristic close-air-support gunship, and are tasked with engaging ground and air enemies as you uncover a sinister corporate plot. Your ship can hover and turn in a VTOL mode, fire weapons outfitted before each mission, and lock on to objects in the world to both track enemies and scan suspicious cargo. Missions require you to navigate through the skyscrapers and billboards of the various city districts, and complete a number of objectives updated through radio contact with headquarters. Heart of Darkness

Andy is a child who likes playing with his dog Whiskey, doesn’t particularly enjoy going to school, and has a knack for inventing complicated gadgets. One day Andy and Whiskey are strolling through the park, when suddenly a solar eclipse darkens the sky, and after a moment Andy realizes that his dog has been taken away. But science can solve everything, and Andy heads to his treehouse, which is home to his outstanding inventions, including a spaceship! If you thought it was just a toy, you thought wrong, because Andy boards the ship and pilots it into the heart of the Darklands, a world controlled by the evil Master of Darkness. Andy takes out his gun (another splendid invention of his) and prepares to fight the evil sorcerer’s minions. Nothing will stop the boy from rescuing his beloved dog!

Heart of Darkness is a cinematic 2D platformer designed by Eric Chahi, the creator of one of the genre’s progenitors, Another World. Though the game has many fast and furious action sequences, including shooting hordes of dark creatures, it is built like a series of tasks, each requiring different approaches, from arcade-style shooting or jumping to interacting with the environment and solving puzzles. Independence Day

Description

This arcade game is based loosely on the 1996 blockbuster movie “Independence Day.” Interspersed with cutscenes lifted from the film, the game consists of flying a jet through various missions in order to take down the gargantuan, city-destroying spaceships. This entails flying around the 3D level and taking out targets such as: communication uplinks, shield generators, the occasional alien fighter craft, and ultimately bringing down the major alien ship via a strike on its main cannon. Powerups are plentiful, such as medical packs that heal your jetcraft, bonus weapons, bonus planes, and an item that freezes enemy planes for a brief time.

Mission settings include the Grand Canyon, Washington D.C., and New York City. There are other missions that are provided on a need-to-know basis (as stated in the manual). The game also features 2-player head-to-head action via a network or null modem link. …

Eat This

Description

Eat This is a side-scrolling platform game in which the player controls a bald trucker named Leon. He has to fend off aliens who are invading the United States of America. Using an assortment of guns, rockets and bombs the player has to kill aliens.

The player controls Leon with the cursor keys while aiming and shooting with the mouse. A crosshair, which moves independently from the character, is used to target enemies in a similar fashion to Abuse. Each level ends with a giant alien boss that needs to be defeated. Along the way the player can pick up health balls to replenish his health.

The game started as a shareware game, where only the first levels of the opening episode, Invasion, were playable. The full version on CD offers all the levels of Invasion and two other full episodes, called Kicking their Butt and Last Assault. …

Description

Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 is a third-person Action/Adventure, based on the Heavy Metal franchise (the comic books, movie, cartoon, etc.).

The story takes place some years after the most recent movie, and basically involves big bad aliens threatening the planet of Eden, the home of Julie (aka F.A.K.K. 2) and other people rescued in the aforementioned movie. So Julie, being the heroine she is, sets out to stop the invasion and send the baddies packing.

To accomplish this you get to use weapons ranging from many types of swords (fire, electrical, chainsaw, etc) to a rocket launcher to guns like a pistol, Uzi, and shotgun. There are even a few shields and some armor. The game has both left and right handed attacks, so you can hold a firesword in one hand, for example, and an Uzi in the other. This also allows for special combo moves which are used to kill powerful monsters quicker. …
