Description

Return Fire is the spiritual successor to Fire Power and it fits in both the strategy and action genres. You can take control of one of 4 vehicles, a jeep, helicopter, tank, and a missile launching vehicle (but actually called The Armoured Support Vehicle (ASV).

There are two ways to win, the easier one would be to capture the enemy’s flag by bringing it to your bunker with the frail Jeep. This is the main objective. The other way to win is to destroy your enemy, a secondary objective.

Return Fire has four specialized vehicles, each one with unique abilities. Each vehicle can carry a limited amount of fuel and ammo (which can be refilled at ammo tents and fuel depots) and can withstand different amounts of damage. Multiplayer madness continues in the souped-up sequel to Return Fire. The basic premise is the same: get your enemy’s flag at all costs. This involves destroying their flag towers until you find the one which contains it, then blowing up defences so that your jeep can get in to grab it.

There are 30 different scenarios to take the AI on at. These encompass ground, air and sea action, with tanks, jeeps and helicopters among the hardware on show.

Wings of War takes you back to World War I, as you take to the skies in a variety of early combat airplanes and fight off the German armada.

The game is played as a 3rd-person arcade flyer in which most physics are downplayed in favor of arcade action. You can collect power-ups that can upgrade your engine, the amount of machine-guns you carry, replenish your health and shield (yes, shield) and increase the number of bombs and rockets you carry. You can also swap planes in mid-air, man turrets in AI-controlled bombers and even ground vehicles.

The game features a single player campaign composed of several missions with dozens of mandatory objectives as well as optional ones played which reward extra points and/or upgrades. In each village, (except the 4th village) are 5 regular levels, 2 bosses, and 1 secret level. Regular levels are levels where you just beat them and get certain items in them.
