Description

Chasm: The Rift is a 3D first-person shooter. As a Marine, the player has been sent inside a power plant to investigate the loss of power at the plant. They later discover that a group of monsters known as the Timestrikers are using the power to create ruptures in time that allow them to invade the Earth in three different time periods: present day, ancient Egypt, and medieval times. Timestrikers that have invaded the present day are also taking control of a nuclear plant in order to detonate a nuke that will destroy nearly all life on Earth.

The game starts in the present day, as the player goes inside the power plant and nuclear plant, battling strange-looking security guards and security systems that have gone haywire. They will then find the rifts that the Timestrikers are using to invade other time periods, eventually winding up at the Timestrikers’ military base in the distant future. …

Description

It has been 83 years since Edward Carnby investigated the suicide of Jeremy Hartwood. Now he wakes up in an apartment in New York and is moments away from being shot by a group of bad guys. He doesn’t remember much and as he looks into a mirror, a man looks back at him that isn’t even near the age of 80. But as all hell breaks loose and mysterious forces tear through the building and the city itself, the question about his looks becomes one of many. To make things even worse, an old enemy decides to return in a search for a powerful stone. So for Carnby a race for survival begins and all signs point to Central Park.

Edward’s mysterious journey is divided into eight episodes that can be played in chronological order or can be accessed directly from the main menu. Once in the game, the player controls Edward either in a 1st-person or a 3rd-person manner either by switching manually or depending on the situation and what item he uses. If he picks up a fire extinguisher for example, the player will be able to extinguish fires with it if he is in 1st-person mode. In 3rd-person mode it instead becomes a deadly weapon or a battering ram. …

AquaNox

Description

In this sequel to Archimedean Dynasty, the player once again controls Emerald “Dead-Eye” Flint, the hero from the first game. Five years after Archimedean Dynasty, the underwater metropolis Neopolis, capital city of the Atlantic Federation, is a battlefield. It is a battle between the government and a new, hard line. Admiral Cox, well known from the previous installment, has to decide – and he really has problems with this decision…

Like its predecessor, AquaNox is a hybrid of submarine simulation and shooter. The game contains more than thirty single player missions and nine different player vessels. Flint earns money by completing missions, allowing him to purchase better submarines, weapons and equipment. Outside the submarine, Flint can visit stations, talk to NPCs, and receive missions from them. Unlike the first game, the player’s view is fixed to the cockpit in this installment, and the controls resemble more those of a first-person shooter. The defensive turret system has been replaced by two cannons that can be installed on the hull. …

AquaNox 2 – Revelation

Description

It is the 27th century, and humanity has fled the surface of the Earth, plagued by radioactivity, into the depths of the ocean. William Drake is the last offspring of an old aristocratic family. After the death of his grandmother, the young man sails off on a freighter belonging to Drake Enterprises. Soon, a group of mercenaries attack his vessel and take control of it. The attackers spare William’s life, but he has no other choice but to link his fate to theirs from that moment on.

Like its predecessor, AquaNox 2: Revelation is a hybrid of submarine simulation and first-person shooter. Four different gunships can be controlled and upgraded by the player throughout the course of the game. The vessels have different characteristics and often have to be chosen for particular missions, e.g. one that requires stealth or heavy plating to withstand attacks. Torpedoes and energy-based weapons can be used to combat the foes. The ship’s controls can be switched between the FPS mode and the Simulation mode, in which the submarine is controlled more realistically. …

Archimedean Dynasty

Description

In the future, resources became increasingly scarce, leading to continuous wars between various countries on Earth. The surface of the planet became so polluted that it was impossible for humanity to live on it any more. Nuclear explosions covered the outside world, and humans fled into the depths of the ocean. Soon, the continents were flooded, and nuclear winter imprisoned the Earth. However, humans continued to live in the stations on the ocean’s bottom, in a new world without sunlight – a world called Aqua.

By the middle of the 27th century, Aqua has been divided into the democratic Atlantic Federation, the oligarchy of the Arabic Clans Union, and the monarchist Russo-Japanese Shogunate. A mercenary named Emerald “Deadeye” Flint is hired by a man called El Topo to escort a sulfur-transporting cargo ship, and gets kidnapped by a group of Shogunate mercenaries in the process. For unknown reasons, their female leader Hong Long helps Flint escape. As Flint begins to undertake missions to repay his debt to El Topo, he becomes involved in a political struggle, unable to distinguish friend from foe. …

Operation Stealth

007: James Bond – The Stealth Affair is a graphic adventure game with a point-and-click interface. The player controls the famous secret agent James Bond (John Glames in the European version), whose task is to travel to South America in order to locate and retrieve a newly designed F-19 stealth plane, which was stolen from the Naval Air Station in Miramar, California.

The game is controlled by the same pop-up command menu consisting of six verbs that was introduced in Delphine’s debut Future Wars: Adventures in Time. However, it’s been slightly improved and does now allow interaction with the inventory, like examining and combining items. The player can use many typical special agent’s gadgets, beginning with a passport forgery kit and ending with explosive cigarettes. Apart from solving puzzles, the player has to make it through some arcade sequences: escape the labyrinth, dive with limited breath, and dodge the evil guy’s minions. …

Lost Planet – Extreme Condition (Colonies Edition)

Description

Mankind left Earth 80 years ago in order to build a life on the planet E.D.N. III. As the colony grew, humanity encountered The Akrids, a bug-like alien race that declared war on the humans for intruding on their territory. The humans didn’t have any effective means to defend themselves and had to retreat from the planet. During the course of the retreat, a young man named Adam had his father killed by a Akrid named “Green Eye”. Scientists soon discovered that the Akrids were a source of precious thermal energy, stored inside their bodies. This needed resource gave humanity an economical reason to fight back. On Earth, the Vital Suit was developed, a heavy weapon mech-like vehicle, Returning to E.D.N. III, Adam is among the many Vital Suit pilots, and seeks to avenge his father’s death.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a 3rd-person shooter. Controlling Adam, the player makes war on the Akrid armies. Adam’s main objective is to destroy Akrid hives, and ultimately defeat “Green Eye” but there will be several goals for him to complete along the way. Adam can hold two weapons and one type of grenade at the same time. In addition, Adam can find different Vital Suit upgrades to give himself new abilities. Since it’s very cold on the planet, thermal energy is needed to survive and restores health energy. In order to get it, Adam can either activate Data Posts or destroy things that have it in them like exploding barrels or enemy Akrids. The thermal energy stored slowly decreases over time and needs constant replenishing. …
