Reservoir Dogs

Description

This game, based on the famous Quentin Tarantino movie Reservoir Dogs, fills in the gaps in the movie that are only briefly mentioned (like the robbery at the jewelry store). Throughout the story you get to play all seven main characters, from Mr. Blonde to Mr. White.

The missions are introduced by game engine cutscenes, which often recreate moments from the film. For example, in the first mission you see Mr. Pink holding his famous monologue “I don’t think we got set up, I know we got set up!” and then you play Mr. Blue as the police arrives at the jewelry where your goal is to get out alive.

To do so, you have two choices: be a psychopath and shoot your way out, or try the subtle approach without harming anyone. For instance, if you do not want to harm anyone you can take a hostage and then threaten the police to lay their weapons down and order them to face the wall. There are a few missions in which you must drive a car but mostly you walk through them. Like in the Hitman series, the game shows at the end of every mission how well you have done. …

Star Wars – Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace

Description

Twenty years before the original Star Wars (A New Hope), the Galactic Republic is undergoing a major political crisis because of a dispute on commercial taxation. Under the pretext of solving the crisis, the greedy Trade Federation has besieged the small planet of Naboo with armies of combat droids and space battleships. Two Jedi Knights, master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice, a very young Obi-Wan Kenobi, are sent by the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic to negotiate the end of the blockade with the Trade Federation’s leaders. But little do the Jedi know that these events are only the beginning of a master plot by an ancient enemy to control the entire galaxy.

Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace is an action-adventure game based on the movie of the same name from 1999. Playing a number of characters from the movie -depending on which level you’re on-, including Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Queen Amidala of Naboo, and Captain Panaka of the Royal Security Forces, you undertake quests and side-quests, solve puzzles, and use weapons to defeat enemies -including your lightsaber, the weapon of a Jedi Knight-. While the story of the game is faithful to that of the movie, additions and extensions to the plot have been made for the sake of gameplay, including a mission detailing Amidala and Panaka’s attempts to reach the Senate Chamber on planet Coruscant. …

The Chronicles of Riddick – Assault on Dark Athena

Description

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena includes two single player campaigns. One is a graphically enhanced version of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and the other, called Assault on Dark Athena, continues the story almost directly after the end of Escape from Butcher Bay with Richard B. Riddick and Johns in hibernation on board of a ship deep in space. A group of renegade mercenaries finds them and brings them on board of their giant ship called the Dark Athena where they transform people into mindless drones. Of course Johns is a too valuable target to transform so they plan to collect the bounty that is on his head after he freed Riddick from the prison. Riddick on the other hand – well he managed to evade capture and is now really pissed.

As in the first campaign, the player once again assumes the role of Riddick, controlling him a standard first person shooter fashion through the corridors of the ship. But Riddick isn’t one who runs guns blazing through the enemies. Instead the dark is his friend. Hiding in the shadows he uses his special ability to see in the dark, sneak up on enemies and perform an instant melee kill with whatever weapon he has currently equipped. This not only applies to his melee weapons that range from his fists to the newly double-carved blades but called “Ulaks” but also to the bigger stuff he’ll find on his journey like assault rifles, a mini-gun and such. …
