Cabela’s 4×4 Off-Road Adventure is action-packed, though mildly frustrating, and will likely be a hit with value conscious fans of off-road mud and snow action. If you’ve ever driven a powerful machine off the beaten path, the simulation will bring back some good memories. The sheer number of vehicles available for use in the different play modes is an asset, and gamers can paint each vehicle in an almost limitless variety of color schemes. The machines can be “souped” up as play advances from stage to stage.

The most notable drawback is the lack of consistency in gameplay. Certain game modes and tracks are incredibly easy, while others are impossibly difficult. Oddly, the game features a backward rewards system for modifying vehicles. For example, complete a snow track and you receive snow tires, not the other way around. Captain Claw

Description

Captain Claw, also called “The Surveyor of the Seven Seas”, is an infamous and successful pirate. The feats of Nathaniel Joseph Claw are legendary as is his ability to slip out of situations and find treasure. Frustrated, the Cocker-Spaniard Kingdom issues a gigantic reward of one million gold pieces for the Captain’s capture. This attracts legions of bounty hunters to Claw’s tail, and eventually he is captured by Captain Le Reux and imprisoned at La Roca. However, even in prison, Claw’s luck continues to work, as he stumbles across an old letter from Edward Tobin containing the location of the “Amulet of Nine Lives”, a mystical item said to grant near-immortality. Inspired by this new challenge, Captain Claw manages to break out of his prison cell and embarks on a perilous journey.

Claw is a side-scrolling platform game in which the player must complete a linear set of stages, some of which culminate with boss battles. Environments include indoor and outdoor areas – city streets, forest, a large ship, underwater, and others. Each stage has two save points. Claw can move left and right, jump and stab his sword directly in front of him. His offensive arsenal includes, beside the sword, a pistol with expendable ammunition, dynamite bombs, and a special ability called “Magic Claw”, which allows the feline hero to hurl projectiles at the enemies. Many hazards await the Captain on his journey, including traps, spikes sticking out from the floor, bottomless pits, and others. Cabela’s Trophy Bucks has the player travel to 24 different hunting hot spots in North America in an attempt to hunt down big game such as Whitetail Deer and Mule Deer along with small game such as rabbits and squirrels. Waterfowl birds such as ducks along with birds like quail are also available for hunting using a variety of weapons ranging from the powerful 30.06, small arms such as pistols and powerful shotguns.

There are 96 different hunting missions to hunt in as well as 24 different hunting competitions to compete in. There are also five different career hunting slams where players hunt several different species in the course of a week. Cabela’s Alaskan Adventures takes you into the depths of twelve Alaskan regions where hunting, fishing and even dog sledding are supreme.

There are two game modes that can be played. In each of the game modes, create a hunter and choose from three difficulty settings. Open Season mode will allow you to quickly hunt or fish in any unlocked area. Adventure mode is the main mode of the game and is the true Alaskan experience. In this mode, travel to each region and visit the outposts to acquire the proper gear including clothing and tents. You will be able to go on hunts, fishing challenges and special contests.
