Streets of SimCity

Description

Streets of SimCity is a 1997 racing and vehicular combat computer game published by Maxis. One of the game’s main attractions was the ability to explore any city created in SimCity 2000 by car in a cinematic style. The game, like SimCopter, is in full 3D and the player’s vehicle can be controlled using a keyboard, a joystick, or a gamepad. Another notable feature is the game’s network mode, in which players can play deathmatches with up to seven other individuals. Notably, it is the last Maxis game to be developed and released without supervision by Electronic Arts, which acquired Maxis in the two months leading up to release and assisted development of Maxis games thereafter.
Its primary competition was Carmageddon.

Race through or create havoc in one of 50+ cities, or import your own SimCity 2000 cities for battle-on-wheels! Play pre-built missions or take on up to seven opponents via LAN or Internet play. …

Serious Sam 2

Description

Serious Sam II is the sequel to Serious Sam is an equally un-serious first-person shooter with everything blown out of proportion. It offers huge levels with hundreds of opponents, funny worlds with various themes, a vivid colour palette, lots of big guns and some of the largest bosses around (including a giant gorilla, bee, skeleton, dragon and robot). Sam “Serious” Stone must fight through the minions of evil mastermind Mental to collect the five pieces of a medallion which will allow him to harm Mental himself.

The game is based around DOOM’s more simple approach to gameplay with a dose of old school game design featuring score, a life-count and extra lives. The outrageous enemies come in waves, dozens at a time, ammo for the basic weapons is plentiful and action almost never ceases. Sometimes a dinosaur, various vehicles (including a flying saucer) and static guns can be mounted to lay waste to Mentals hordes. Weapons include a revolver, shotgun, circular saw, plasma gun, sniper rifle, Uzi, rocket launcher grenade launcher, mini gun, canon and a serious bomb. After all locations’ games are played, a video is unlocked for the end of the game where SpongeBob and Patrick discover that Plankton was the one behind the robot invasion. Plankton admits that it was his fault and that the robots are not listening to him and the only way to control the robots is to set the switch to “obey” mode. Instead, Patrick fools around with the machine, accidentally pulling its obey switch off, which turns off the machine and deprograms the robots. After SpongeBob and Patrick leave, Plankton tries to tell them that he will be back with another plan.

One of Plankton’s nefarious plans, as per usual, has gone awry. The robots he created with his Duplicatotron 3000 failed to obey him and are now running amok on Bikini Bottom. The robots have captured Patrick, Sandy, Gary, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs and now it’s up to SpongeBob to rescue them. …

Fish patrons and groups of customers arrive and wait to be seated at the left side of the screen. A hearts meter above their heads shows their satisfaction level, that slowly decreases while they wait making them eventually leave in anger when it runs out. They can be dragged and dropped with the mouse to one of the empty tables. The tables have multi-colored seats, that give extra points when matching the client’s color.

After seating at the tables, the customers start to peruse the menu, eventually raising their fins to make an order. The main objective is to serve them and collect their payment as fast as possible, to meet the minimum cash goal of each level before closing time. SpongeBob can carry two things at the same time, and the player can click on several places at once, setting a series of way points to take orders, deliver dishes, clean tables and accomplish other common catering tasks. …
