Description

Years from now the people of Earth colonize another planet called Cognita, found near Rigel Kentaurius (Alpha Centauri A). It is the only place besides Earth where the human race can survive and grow.

That is, however, until another planet is discovered. 68 light years from Earth and not far from Aldebaran, one of the Taurus constellation’s stars, the “third Earth” awaits. Not long after the discovery, a fleet of Sundivers, mind controlled ships the size of large cities, begin the trek to the new planet. But on the way there, they are intercepted by an alien race.

While controlling one of the many Sundivers, build an army with enough fire power to defend the rest of the fleet from the new enemy, and continue the mission to colonize the “third Earth”. …

Description

In the opening sequence of the game, a soup can discarded from a boat smashes the home of a race of tiny submarine humanoids. The player takes the role of the survivor of this disaster, a freelance sub captain who must buy, sell, trade, and pirate his way to the top in a cutthroat world of underwater adventure. The Bohines, a nation in the game, are at war with the Prochas, another nation.

To survive and prosper, the player character can engage in various mining or salvage operations, recovering enormous bottle caps, cigarette butts, thorium crystals, and pearls, all of which are valuable commodities sellable in cities. However, both mutant fish and pirate subs lie in wait. Once the player has built up enough cash, they can begin to exploit a form of ‘stock market’ in which various commodities can be purchased and resold at other locations or times for higher prices. …

Description

The fantasy world of Gothos is populated by two kinds of people: the Dreamers, who are capable of using magic, and the Steamers, whose civilization relies on technology. The two peoples live in separate areas, mistrust each other, and usually avoid contact. But more often than not, natural human feelings are stronger than anything else. A Steamer man and a Dreamer woman fell in love with each other, and the fruit of their passion was a boy whom they named Melvin. The latter grew up in Dreamertown, disliked and suspected by its inhabitants because of his mixed blood. As monsters suddenly attacked the town, Melvin was blamed for it, and expelled from his homeland. He decides to venture into the land of the Steamers and find his missing father. Naturally, this is just the beginning of a long and perilous journey, during which Melvin will become a true hero.

TechnoMage: Return of Eternity is a hybrid game that incorporates elements of adventure, role-playing, and action-based combat. Many of the game’s missions involve peaceful wandering through the environments, talking to characters, and performing tasks that often involve solving puzzles of various kinds, in an adventure-like fashion. RPG elements are present in experience points which the hero receives form eliminating enemies and completing quests. …

Description

Dart, a brave and loyal warrior swordsman, has sworn to avenge the death of his parents by destroying the mysterious black monster. For unknown reasons, the Sandora Empire burns down his village and imprisons his childhood friend, Shana. Straight away Dart sets out on a journey to rescue her, but Shana’s kidnapping is merely the tip of the iceberg of a much grander, more sinister plot about ancient spiritual powers and the destruction of the human race.

The Legend of Dragoon is a Japanese-style RPG, visually reminiscent of Final Fantasy VII (pre-rendered backgrounds, 3D characters and battle scenes, CG animations to advance the story). Battle mechanics follow the traditional turn-based prototype, with a few additions such as critical attacks dependent on precise timing, and “dragoon” transformations, which allow access to powerful techniques. Game progression is largely linear, with the “world map” replaced by locations represented as connected dots. …

The Xbox version, a 3rd person adventure, has you scaling the lands of middle earth in real time combat with a host of evil creatures to find your way past. Along the way, you will come across familiar characters that will aid or hinder your progress.

Unlike the movie trilogy, this adaption of the tale includes characters not seen on the big screen, including Tom Bombadil and others, as well as including many of the songs written by Tolkien as puzzles. …

Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring takes the highly acclaimed, much loved Fantasy story, written by J.R.R. Tolkien and converts it into a Real Time Strategy game. In it, you can choose to lead the forces of Good or the forces of Evil as each struggle to control the One Ring.

The game is split into two 10-mission campaigns, giving you the chance to take a look at some of the aspects of the LOTR storyline that weren’t focused in the books. In the Good campaign, you follow Legolas, Gimli and Boromir as manage to show up in Rivendell just in time to join the Fellowship of the Ring. In the Evil campaign, you must lead the forces of Sauron, break out of Mordor and besiege the city of Minas Tirith.

Instead of being based on the movie license, the game is devoted exclusively to the books, so you will not hear the actors from the movies in the game. …
