Gothic II

Description

The demon known as The Sleeper has been banished and the magical barrier around the prison mining colony on the isle of Khorinis destroyed. The nameless hero who accomplished this, however, had to pay a high price: he lies buried under a pile of rocks.

Shortly afterwards he is revived by the renegade mage Xardas. A new threat is rising: evil armies, led by dragons, are gathering in the old mine valley. Someone has to take the news to the people of Khorinis and help them in defeating this menace. But the people have their own problems: the war against the orcs is still raging on the mainland, and the king has sent his paladins to Khorinis to make sure that the mining of the magical ore continues, now that the prisoners have fled the mine. Many of the former prisoners have now become mercenaries, hired by the farmers on the island, who refuse to obey the king and his minions any longer. Violent conflict seems inevitable. …

Gothic 3

Description

At the end of Gothic the nameless hero destroyed the Avatar of the god Beliar known as the Sleeper. But although his body was gone, the Sleeper wasn’t ready to give up and chose an undead dragon as his new form in the world. So in Gothic II the goal was to defeat his four minions, which he left behind in the mine valley, and the Sleeper himself with the power of the Eye of Innos.

In Gothic 3 the hero and his companions have now reached the mainland of the kingdom of Myrtana. Despite the efforts of the mining colony on Khorinis, the orcs won the war and enslaved the humans that wouldn’t acknowledge their rule. There are now three main factions on Myrtana: the rebels who are still loyal to King Rhobar and want to defeat the orcs; the orcs themselves; and the mysterious assassin guild with their own agenda. During the game the player needs to choose which side he is on and help them to fulfill their goal.

To make things even more difficult, all rune magic has disappeared from the land. Only the magic of the ancients still works; but for that the player needs to find the magic scrolls well hidden across the land. The goal is now to find out what happened in Myrtana and find the mysterious wizard Xardas, as there are rumors which say that he’s the one who helped the orcs win the war – and some even say that he is the one behind the disappearance of the rune magic. …

Hellbender

Description

Councillor, we have a big problem. The Bion commandos have just destroyed our fighter pilot training school. ALL of our fighter pilots have perished, along with most of our fighters. You, as a retired pilot, are our ONLY remaining pilot. Fortunately, Hellbender, our experimental assault craft, has survived. Unfortunately, that Bion attack is likely only the first wave. You must take the craft and destroy the Bion attack. Good luck to us all.

Hellbender is a 3D vehicle shooter that is a sequel to Fury³ and a descendant of Terminal Velocity. The player pilots this vehicle through a first or third-person view, going in any direction and shooting almost anything. Fly above the clouds to fight, fly near the ground to attack, and sometimes, dive into the tunnels to search and destroy. The player will be challenged by ground defenses, fighters, missile launchers, and much more — even a few puzzles to solve, figuring out which switches open what. There are power-ups everywhere, but they have to be looked for. With ten different weapons to choose from, there are plenty of ways to deal out destruction! Even multiplayer is supported. …

Kill Switch

Description

An innovative third person shooter that makes heavy use of a ‘cover system’. This allows the player to ‘attach’ to objects so that they can fire at the enemy from a safe position.

At first you’ll cause all sorts of mayhem in various global hotspots, but as the past is made clear, the real enemy and their ultimate objective will be revealed. …

Magic & Mayhem

Description

Magic and Mayhem is set in three mythological/historical realms; Albion, Greece and Avalon, covering Arthurian, Greek, and Celtic themes respectively. In the campaign, the player journeys their way through each realm in order, with map designs and terrain corresponding to the current realm. For example, maps set in Albion may include medieval gothic castles, whereas Greek maps contain classical mediterranean architecture.

Geographically, each realm is not strictly adherent to their historic counterparts; for instance, the “Greek” realm is modified slightly, with Colchis and Crete separated from Greece by only a thin stretch of ocean channel. Myths, such as Jason and the Golden Fleece, are also modified slightly, with Cornelius rather than Jason retrieving the artefact.

Story
The game’s introductory movie presents Cornelius as he visits his uncle’s magical laboratory, only to find it in ruins. He deduces that something bad must have befallen the absent Lucan, as his flying machine is primed and ready for a trip. Cornelius decides to undertake the journey his uncle was planning. A raven, soon after introduced as Hermes, accompanies Cornelius from thereon throughout the game; Cornelius decides this must be Lucan’s familiar. …
