March 2021 News

Greetings, greetings! Hopefully everyone has great time, we finally made it through the updating process and as well as released 55 new additions to our game base. So, let's first recall what the updated installers were all about from the previous month's bulletin. The main objective was to make some games compatible again with Windows XP and to also bundle some NoCrack repacks into one installer. If you remember, dgVoodoo isn't compatible with Windows XP and with the old game installers you had to manually remove the dgVoodoo libraries on Windows XP for the game(s) to work, otherwise it just straight out spit an error message and that was it.

So now with the new component-based installers, dgVoodoo is not even shown as an option when you run the game installer on Windows XP or run it with compatibility options. There are 4 main points to consider with the updated installers:
  • If you can uncheck dgVoodoo as an option, you will be able to preserve the original 4:3 aspect ratio, however the game might NOT work
  • If you cannot uncheck dgVoodoo as an option, then it means that the game needs it to actually work on modern Windows
  • The same principle applies for the NoCrack repacks
  • If you saw dgVoodoo as an option in the installer and you are sure that you checked it, but the game still installed without it, please double check before commenting that it is missing. In the rare occasion it might be missing, most of the time users just install stuff in a hurry without reading everything carefully.
Bear in mind that a very small amount of repacks will still NOT work on Windows XP, because of the patches that are applied to the games themselves, for one example, Manhunt.
Some repacks were completely redone, others saw significant bug fixes or improvements. Check the changelogs first.

And with that out of the way, let's start with the new additions!

New (55)

Updated (115)
With today's bulletin, our total amount of repacks become 296! As always, if you see broken or wrong links, please comment on the game's post which is affected.

And that's it for now. Happy gaming and see ya next time (not necessarily next month)!
